Wellness Wednesday 4/19/2017
Can you believe it is Wednesday already?
First of all I have two personal notes. Thanks to everyone who read my posts yesterday and came to my rescue. I am a better person because of people like you. Second note, I'M BACK. Love it or hate it, the world is going to get a daily dose of rainbows and sunshine!
So for Wellness Wednesday let's talk about sleep and hydration. For the month of April my awesome friend has been running a sleep and hydration challenge for our heath and wellness group.
Staying hydrated is the single most important thing you can do to stay healthy. There are many different mindsets and opinions as to how much to drink a day. I drink at least 2 liters a day. There is an easy guide. If your pee is clear, your good!
Now for sleep. Sure most health care professionals call for 8 hours as day. If you have a night job, deadlines, travel, or have babies, you know this does not happen. One thing I know is you cannot make up for last zzzz's!
As Summer and road trips approach sleep and hydration become more important. If you are taking a vacation and are driving a long distance, please rest as often as possible.
If you are working or having fun in the sun, keep the water close by. If you are having some adult beverages you will dehydrate faster than you think.
So far this month I have averaged over 6 hours a night of sleep. I feel better and am recovering quicker from my long runs.
Hydration has gotten better, but can always improve.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
