While trying to come up with a catchy name for a website I was thinking about things I like. It was actually hard to come up with it. I have no idea why. This is my darn website and I can call it what ever I want. So here is my explanation.
RUN: I love exercise. I had gone a long time without really doing anything. I guess life just happens that way. When I started my journey, one goal was to run a 5k because I was told not to run anymore. So for the most part RUN is just a word used to just get off your ass and move.
LAUGH: Life is way to short. You need to be able to laugh off some stuff while keeping true to what makes you tick. Not all of life is a joke or funny, but taking yourself less seriously will help with fixing all kinds of stuff.
LIVE: You have to get out and enjoy life. Nothing is easy and you need to make time for you. We are all torn in a million different directions. Take time for you once in a while. I do not care what it is. Find someplace to get some quiet in your head. Get out and about. Take in all that the world has to offer and experience things.
All three together runlaughlive is my way of life. Is it yours? Who knows. In future posts I will elaborate on these items more. Incorporating little tidbits from my life that have shaped me. Until my next post, think about what makes you tick. Are you trying to fit all the pieces of life together? Are the pieces not lining up? If you are trying something, that is half the battle.
So here is a little things about me. Today is Palm Sunday and the start of Holy Week. I love holy week because it is a week of reckoning. It is also a time for reflection. I often think of things like, if I was to go tonight in my sleep, would I have done all I could to leave a lasting positive impression on the world? Perhaps yes, perhaps no. My biggest goal is to have my children be well rounded educated stewards of life. They need to know that life is far larger than our small house and our community. They may be a little young to comprehend a global life, but they will.
I also like this week, because there is a ton of cool documentaries about the start of the Catholic Church. I am not a huge bible thump-er, but have always been fascinated with history. I for one believe in my religion. In my eyes there is nothing wrong with believing. Some may have differing opinions. That is fine with me. Talking religion is sometimes labeled as taboo, or networking suicide, or an invitation to a social media shit storm. There is a time and place for it. Work is not one, so I leave it alone. I ignore the blasphemous remarks of most people I know. I laugh when the 3 times a year Catholics bitch about working on Good Friday or Christmas. These are not my battles. to each their own. All I know is that It is my life and I will do what I please. I will never push a religious agenda on another person, and can only hope for same level of respect.
There, a little about me. That was easy.
